Alexander Björklund Hammar

Alexander Björklund Hammar is a doctoral student at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense), working under the supervision of Aglae Pizzone and Lars Boje Mortensen. He is based at the Faculty of Humanities at SDU. He holds an MA in Library and Information Science from the University of Uppsala. His main research interests include mythology and cultural exchange in the ancient world, as well as reception studies. Alexander has become increasingly interested in the possibilities and challenges posed by digital technology for the study and dissemination of ancient literature. His research project – Unofficial classicism: walking through the Danish archives – investigates the nexus between Danish culture and ancient tradition, by examining the Danish archives and collecting sources about grass-root engagement with the Graeco-Roman past.
