Evgeniya Litvin is a doctoral student at the University of Salento, working under the supervision of Francesco G. Giannachi and Marcello Aprile. She is based at the Department of Humanities of UniSalento. She holds an MA in Byzantine and Modern Greek Philology from the Hellenic Institute of the Saint Petersburg State University. Her main research interests include ancient and modern languages of the European Mediterranean region, migration studies, anthropology of linguistic enclaves, and structures of folklore texts. Her research project – Greek-Salentine literature of oral tradition: retrieval, classification and critical-literary analysis – aims to connect the most widespread textual typologies produced in grico with the Byzantine, modern Greek and Italian vernacular literary production, investigating thus the permanence and transformation across the centuries of narrative patterns and motives received from antiquity.
