Martina Ciprian

Martina Ciprian is a doctoral student at the University of Salento, working under the supervision of Marcello Aprile and Francesco G. Giannachi. She is based at the Department of Humanities of UniSalento. She holds an MA in Humanities from IUSS (Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori), University of Pavia. Her main research interests include cultural and linguistic minorities. Her research project – The neo-Hellenic dialect of Salento: evolution and erosion in the Hellenophone area and on the routes of central European and intercontinental emigration – focuses on the diaspora of the Greek-Salentine language, engaging with communities of Greek-Salentine migrants and comparing texts already transcribed and the language spoken by the living communities.
