Lars Boje Mortensen holds the chair of Ancient and Medieval Cultural History at the Language, Culture, History and Communication at SDU and is the Head of the Centre for Medieval Literature. His main fields of interest are Medieval Latin literature, especially in the High Middle Ages, as well as cultural and intellectual history in the same period. He is also working on broader literary history (including literature in Old Norse, Middle High German and French), and on the theory of literary history as it is connected to questions of cultural heritage. Other focus points are the transmission of the Roman classics in the Middle Ages as well as medieval chronicle writing and Saxo Grammaticus.
